Officially British

There is an interesting tale to this passport. I had always known that my mom was born in the UK and she had always said that the British considered her a citizen, even though she never did and never had a British passport. When I turned 18 at the end of high school, I felt like I should investigate my potential claim to British citizenship. At first, I went to the British citizenship website on the Home Office Website. When I looked around, I saw a lot about citizenship by descent, but nothing specific enough to my situation. I contacted them by email and they replied within a few days that I could apply for the passport directly from the British Embassy in Washington with no further registration required. So, I ordered my mom's birth certificate from the Home Office online. When it came, I sent away the application and a few months later received a brand new British passport. I have until 2015, and I want to fill its pages.
